Spider veins are tiny purplish or blue blood vessels that are visible on the surface of the skin. Spider veins commonly occur on the legs, but can surface on the face as well.

The long pulsed Yag 1064 laser light is attracted to the blue and purple color in leg veins and vaporizes the vein. The vein is sealed off, and disappears. For facial veins, which are most often red in color, the Aura 532 KTP laser is used for treatment.

We have found that most patients with leg veins usually require 3-5 treatments. Facial veins may need 2-3 treatments. All types of veins require maintenance treatments to pre-existing or new veins that continue to develop over time. This should be done at least annually.
